Nina Smeets-Rodrigues

Piano

Nina has been familiar with music, from Bach to Villa Lobos, even before she was born (July 1986).
She has fostered her professional aspirations for the past 5 years, delighting the judges at the 2002 cantabile contest, where she received a diploma of high distinction.

In 2004, after graduating from high school in economy and modern languages, she followed her dream and went to study piano with Levente Kende and her mother, Eliane Rodrigues, at the Antwerp Conservatory.

She not only broadened her knowledge as a solo pianist, she also gained experience in accompanying vocalists (under the tutelage of Jozef de Beenhouwer and Lucienne Van Dyck), pianoforte (under the tutelage of Bart van Oort and Ayako Ito), musical analysis (under the tutelage of Wim Hendrickx and Yves Senden) and chamber music. This ranged from piano duets via piano and violin duets to larger musical assemblies.

She received her masters degree in 2010 and she is currently gaining more stage experience in solo music and chamber music alike.
